With nods to artists like Carole King and Joni Mitchell\, Ida blends pop and folk with intelligent\, thoughtful structure and lyrics. Even songs that are more solemn and serious in tone leave you feeling hopeful and introspective. \nKyle Gray Young is a Finnish American singer-songwriter\, music educator\, and music historian living in Minneapolis\, Minnesota. Originally from just north of Chicago\, Kyle has been composing music and playing guitar since the age of five\, and has released 11 albums and 30 books of sheet music. Kyle has received four grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and four from the Central Minnesota Arts Board for various music projects. His most recent grant is from Finlandia Foundation National to write a memoir based on his experiences connecting with his Finnish roots.

Do you want to learn a new style of dance? \nCome and Dance!! \nCome join the Kisarit Finnish-American Folk Dancers of the Twin Cities for a 4-week session of evening dance instructions each Thursday in April\, 2025\, at Hopkins High School. \nKisarit Finnish-American Folkdancers will be offering Finnish basic dance lessons as part of the Community Ed. Adult Enrichment program of the Hopkins High School. We will be teaching basic Finnish dance steps such as the waltz\, jenkka (schottische)\, humppa\, masurkka and some mixers and simple dances. Classes will be held on Thursdays April 3\,10\,17\,24-2025 from 7-8pm. DESCRIPTION:Thursdays during April\, 2025\n7:00 pm – 8:00 pm\nHopkins High School\nHopkins\, MN \n$50 pp\n \nAre you interested in Nordic/Scandinavian dancing? Do you want to learn a new style of dance? \nCome and Dance!! \nCome join the Kisarit Finnish-American Folk Dancers of the Twin Cities for a 4-week session of evening dance instructions each Thursday in April\, 2025\, at Hopkins High School. \nKisarit Finnish-American Folkdancers will be offering Finnish basic dance lessons as part of the Community Ed. Adult Enrichment program of the Hopkins High School. We will be teaching basic Finnish dance steps such as the waltz\, jenkka (schottische)\, humppa\, masurkka and some mixers and simple dances. Classes will be held on Thursdays April 3\,10\,17\,24-2025 from 7-8pm. Cost is $50 per attendee. \nTo have a better dance experience\, please try to wear comfortable clothing and smoothed-soled shoes (sneakers not recommended).\nPeople interested can register for the classes by going to the Hopkins Community Education website  or call 952.988.4070 for help & information. \nRegister early as attendance will be limited to 12 attendees.
