DESCRIPTION:Friday\, February 1 – Saturday\, February 2\, 2025\nTheodore Wirth Park & other venues\nMinneapolis\, MN \nThe City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival is a two-day festival that includes a variety of point-to-point Cross-Country Ski\, Fat Bike\, Skijor\, and Snowshoe events\, both competitive races and recreational touring events through Theodore Wirth Park; and a number of unique events\, such as the Kubb Tournament. \nKeeping the fun going over two weekends will be the City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival\, a two-day festival the first weekend in February followed the next weekend by the Luminary Loppet (also the Loppet’s largest fundraiser of the year!) on the second Saturday in February.  \nSchedule of Events: City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival (Feb. 1-2)

She will focus on the reader-writers’—women and children’s letters published in Toveritar\, exploring the understanding(s) of weather\, climate\, and seasons. Weather and seasons were recurring themes in Toveritar (Comradess)\, a Finnish-language socialist women’s newspaper published from 1911 to 1930. \nAdditionally\, she will discuss the importance of historical research on colonialism\, climate\, and weather in understanding the cultural impacts of climate change today.
