Come visit the Kuopio, Finland – Minneapolis Sister City booth at the Sister City Day
Meet Minneapolis is pleased to announce the free event: Minneapolis Sister Cities Day, Sunday, July 17 at Nicollet Island Pavilion from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The program will feature the life and works of Minna Canth (1844-1897), who lived most of her life in Kuopio. She is the only woman in Finland to have a flag day, March 19, named for her, and also known as Social Equality Day.
Information and short readings of Minna Canth’s work will be presented, and Diane Jarvi, musician and poet, will perform.
Hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
There is no cost for the event.
